Bellevue Summer Fete
Saturday, 13th July saw us bring back our popular Summer Fete for the first time in four years - and what a great day it was!
Leading up to the day itself, while we humans were enjoying the heatwave, we were becoming a little concerned about our canine and equine friends. If the weather was too hot, we were worried we'd spend the day dealing with overheated animals. Happily when Saturday dawned, it was comfortably warm and overcast, with a light breeze - so absolutely perfect for what we had planned!
The day was packed full with traditional country fayre events, such as the dog agility course, scurry driving, wet sponge stocks and tug of war - and around the edge of the main field our fabulous visiting stalls and charities received a lot of interest. Our dog show classes were really well attended, with some gorgeous entries. The 'Best in Show' award went to Florence and her owners Wayne and Lucille Oliver.
'Wet the Vet' was particularly fun with Equine vet Cordelia and Small Animal vet nurse Leanne risking a soaking in the stocks (which they duly got!).
All in all, it was a wonderful day. And we couldn't have done it without all of you. Our thanks to all our wonderful stall holders, field attractions and contributors* and to each and every one of our fabulous visitors - we hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did.
We are delighted to announce that we raised well over £800 to be split between our two charities: Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, and Happy Landings Animal Rescue.
* We would like to thank (in no particular order):
